Over the Easter holidays you will see a big variety customers with all different reasons for shopping so walk through each of their journeys. Think families with young kids, those with older children, families who are bringing everyone back home this Easter, singletons, friends on a bank holiday weekend.... and make sure you cater to their needs and their purses. If you have the facility to build it think about a promotion that will generate a voucher for a return visit.

You should already have your Easter displays up and running by the beginning of April but don’t be afraid to change them around so that your regular customers see a different angle each week, or a different focus. It just keeps it fresh and stimulates multiple purchases.

For those of you with Butchery sections lamb is obviously a bit seller this month. Remember to cross sell as much as possible with condiments, fresh mint, meal solution multibuys and obviously complementary wine and non-alcoholic alternative.

Have you thought about setting up an egg hunt in your space? If you have room it is a great way to drive footfall, push people to the far corners of your site and to build a fun association with the brand.

Your online shop should be busy at this time of year so make sure you travel test any confectionery items. Also think about clustering up bundles to create hampers or gift bags to drive up the average purchase value.
