Forward Planning in February

Now is the time to be thinking about orders for the end of April and May which is when you should be looking to launch your BBQ ranges as well as any Bank Holiday ideas. You will need to consider what happens once your Easter displays are dismantled.

Discuss how you want to approach that first May bank holiday. It is always good to lay out your offers for that so that it establishes your Summer range. If there is even a chink of sunshine, the BBQ’s will be wheeled out so start securing your ranges of condiments, accessories, aprons, tongs, and even BBQ’s, coals and flavoured chips if you want. Remember the second bank holiday will be pulled into June for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee so start bringing in Jubilee product early to remind people that this is going to be an extended weekend of celebrations.

You may want to piggy back on some of the other events taking places at that time, depending on your customer profile, so here's a reminder of some of them:

  • St George's Day 23rd April
  • Ramadan (2nd April - 1st May)
  • Earth Day 22nd April
  • National Tea Day 21st April
  • Eid 2nd May
  • Hummus Day 13th May
  • Marmalade Festival 14th May
  • British Sandwich Week 15th - 22nd May
  • FA Cup Final 21st May

Things to consider:
Make sure you know the February half term dates which seem to be quite split this year and look at promotions for that week like kids eat for free?
